Old Vine Barossa Valley Grenache Shiraz Mataro 2012

A 34/33/33% blend sourced from old vines in the Moppa Hill and Moppa South subdistricts of Greenock dating back to 1903. Grenache and Mataro open vat co-fermented and matured in used French oak, Shiraz open-fermented and matured in new and used French oak. Very good colour; stacked full of flavours of every hue and description on the medium-bodied, but very long, palate, with a spicy/juicy twang to finish. Rating: 94

    Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

From Eden Valley vines dating back to '60, open-fermented, basket-pressed, 20 months in new and used French oak. Deeply coloured, the wine throbs with rich cassis fruit, the tannins plump and ripe, the oak perfectly integrated and balanced. Great value, and it's not yet at its best. Foundation Barossa Shiraz 2012

From estate vineyards in Greenock and the Eden Valley, matured in French and American oak for 20 months, mainly used (a good thing). A celebration of a great vintage with gloriously juicy red and black fruits running through the supple medium-bodied palate; the tannins are plump and ripe, the finish right on the money. Drink by:2030 Date tasted:04/Jun/2014 Alcohol:14.5%

    Rating: 94
